Tauron Basket Liga (TBL) - the highest in the hierarchy of class league men's basketball games in Poland, which is also the highest level facility (and division level).
The functioning and history
Struggle within it are under way on a regular basis (the first season of 1947/1948), a round-robin, (from the 1984/1985 season with a play-off phase), as the league championship and are for the best Polish basketball clubs. PLK winner is also a master of Polish, and the weakest teams are relegated to the first Polish league. Until 1997, managed by the Polish Basketball Federation (NCPE), and since 1997 by the Polish Basketball League SA (Organization formed in 1995 as the Polish Basketball League Sp.). PLK SA is a professional league, between October 2001 and a member of the Union of European Basketball Leagues (ULEB), and since September 2005 is also a shareholder of Commercial Assets Euroleague. In January 2010, there were changes in management and supervisory board of the league. In place of the outgoing president Janusz Wierzbowski, were appointed: Jacek Jakubowski (CEO) and Greg Bachański (league commissioner with the rank of vice president.) The official name of the league

* Dominet Basketball League (DBL) - in the 2005/2006 season.
The name arose because of a sponsorship agreement with Dominet Bank SA, which was signed on November 21, 2005 (during the season 2005/2006) [1]. At its best the league would get more than 2 million zł per year [2].
* Dominet Bank Extraliga (DBE) - from season 2006/2007 to 2007/2008 season.
The name arose because of a sponsorship agreement with Dominet Bank SA and in force since 13 October 2006 to September 30, 2008 [3].
* Polish Basketball League (BBL) - in the 2008/2009 season.
PLK Board found no strategic sponsor for the league and the titular.
* Polish Basketball League / Tauron Basketball League (BBL / TBL) - in the 2009/2010 season.
PLK Board found no strategic sponsor for the league and the titular before the season begins. Sponsorship agreement was signed only on 27 April 2010. For the period until the end of the 2009/2010 season contract with the PLK Poland has signed Tauron Energia SA based in Katowice [4].
League on TV

Therefore, in September 2006 signed an agreement with PLK TV Polsat for the right to broadcast matches, and exclusive magazine issue summarizing the league every turn, starting from the 2006/2007 edition (it was signed for two seasons, with a possible extension for another).
